Aim to run for length of time instead of distance - 'I am going for a 20 minute run'

Our minds accept time much easier than distance because time is fixed and when the time's up its finished!

Distance on the other hand is fixed on the ground or route we run but will always vary depending on how slowly we run, how difficult the route is, the temperature etc.

The duration to complete a certain distance will vary each time we run it.

Playing games with our mind is what makes us a good runner. Controlling our bodies using our minds effectively makes us a good runner.

So if we tell yourself that we are only going out for a 20 minute run, your mind will accept it far easier than telling yourself that ‘I need to do a 2 mile run’

See you later I’m going for a 20 minute run!!
